Implementation Report: AdminMonitoringPage - Logs Tab

Date: 2025-11-24 Agent: Frontend-Agent Task: Implementar Tab de Logs (Integrar Audit Log) Status: COMPLETED

Overview

Successfully implemented the Logs tab in AdminMonitoringPage to display audit logs (authentication attempts) from the backend. The implementation includes:

  • Complete type definitions aligned with backend DTOs
  • API integration with proper data transformation
  • Custom React hook for state management
  • Feature-rich UI component with filtering and pagination
  • Tab-based navigation system

Files Created

1. useAuditLogs Hook

File: apps/frontend/src/apps/admin/hooks/useAuditLogs.ts

Custom React hook that:

  • Fetches audit logs from backend API
  • Manages pagination state (page, pageSize, total)
  • Handles filtering (date range, status, email, IP)
  • Provides loading/error states
  • Supports manual refetch
  • Auto-fetches on mount (configurable)

API:

const {
  logs, // AuditLogEntry[]
total, // Total number of entries
  page, // Current page
  totalPages, // Total pages
  pageSize, // Items per page
  isLoading, // Loading state
  error, // Error message
  refetch, // Manual refetch function
  setFilters, // Update filters
  setPage // Change page
} = useAuditLogs({ filters, page, pageSize, autoFetch });

2. LogsViewer Component

File: apps/frontend/src/apps/admin/components/monitoring/LogsViewer.tsx

Fully-featured audit log viewer with:

Features:

  • Table display with all columns (Timestamp, Email, Status, IP Address, Details)
  • Status badges (Success/Failed) with colors
  • Collapsible details for failure reasons
  • Filter panel (Status dropdown, Date range picker)
  • Pagination controls (Previous/Next, page indicator)
  • Refresh button with loading animation
  • Export to CSV functionality
  • Loading states with spinner
  • Error handling with user-friendly messages
  • Empty state when no logs found
  • Responsive design
  • Motion animations (Framer Motion)

UI Components Used:

  • DetectiveCard (base layout)
  • Lucide React icons
  • Framer Motion for animations
  • Tailwind CSS for styling

3. AdminMonitoringPage Updates

File: apps/frontend/src/apps/admin/pages/AdminMonitoringPage.tsx

Changes:

  • Added tab-based navigation system
  • Integrated LogsViewer in "Logs" tab
  • Maintained "Under Construction" for other tabs (Metrics, Error Tracking, Alerts)
  • Updated page header and description
  • Improved UX with active tab highlighting

Tabs:

  1. Logs - Implemented (audit log viewer)
  2. Métricas - 🚧 Coming Soon
  3. Error Tracking - 🚧 Coming Soon
  4. Alertas - 🚧 Coming Soon

Testing & Validation

Build Validation

cd apps/frontend && npm run build

Result: SUCCESS (15.26s)

TypeScript Compilation: No errors Vite Build: Successful Chunk Sizes:

  • Main bundle: 1,116.22 kB (265.54 kB gzipped)
  • All builds under acceptable limits

Manual Testing Checklist

For complete testing, verify:

  • Navigation: Tab switching works correctly
  • Data Loading: Logs load from backend on mount
  • Filters:
    • Status filter (All/Success/Failed)
    • Date range filter (start/end dates)
    • Filters trigger data refetch
  • Pagination:
    • Page navigation (Previous/Next)
    • Correct page indicator
    • Disabled state on first/last page
  • Display:
    • All columns render correctly
    • Timestamps formatted properly
    • Status badges colored correctly
    • IP addresses displayed
    • Failure reasons expandable
  • Actions:
    • Refresh button works
    • Export CSV generates valid file
  • States:
    • Loading spinner shows during fetch
    • Error messages display on failure
    • Empty state shown when no results
  • Responsive: Works on mobile/tablet/desktop

Performance Considerations

Pagination

  • Default page size: 20 entries
  • Backend handles pagination efficiently
  • Only requested page data is transferred

Data Transformation

  • Minimal overhead for snake_case ↔ camelCase conversion
  • Performed once per request/response

Component Optimization

  • useCallback hooks prevent unnecessary re-renders
  • Filters state managed locally before API call
  • Debouncing not implemented (future enhancement)

Future Enhancements (Optional)

Phase 2 Features

  1. Advanced Filters:

    • Search by email (autocomplete)
    • User agent filter
    • Multiple status selection
  2. Real-time Updates:

    • WebSocket integration for live logs
    • Auto-refresh toggle (30s, 1min, 5min)
  3. Analytics:

    • Failed login attempts chart
    • IP geolocation visualization
    • Suspicious activity detection
  4. Export Enhancements:

    • PDF export
    • Excel export with formatting
    • Scheduled reports
  5. Performance:

    • Virtual scrolling for large datasets
    • Search debouncing (300ms)
    • Lazy loading for details
